The fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League is currently underway, and five teams are competing to become champions. The tournament has almost reached its final stage, where there are just a few games before the start of the playoff stage.
So far, fans have witnessed some incredible moments and remarkable performances in the tournament. Some brilliant batting, bowling, and fielding performances. However, on Friday, in the 14th game of the tournament, fans caught a MS Dhoni-like moment. It was the game between Dambulla Aura and the Galle Titans at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
Dambulla registered a comfortable win by seven wickets. They made 134/3 in 17.4 overs to win the game. But during the first inning, Dambulla skipper Kusal Mendis pulled off an excellent run-out of Lahiru Samarakoon. He did it on the first ball of the 20th over.

Samarakoon hit a ball to the leg side and completed one run. But while completing the second run, the fielder Sadeera Samarawickrama had a bullet throw to keeper Mendis. He collected the ball and threw it towards the stumps without looking at it, and it hit the bull’s eye.
The ball was away from the stumps when Mendis grabbed it. The way he hit the stumps recalled some of the amazing run-outs made by MS Dhoni during his career. Fans also shared the video clip on social media. Earlier in the game, Dambulla won the toss and decided to bowl first. Their bowlers proved that decision right and restricted Galle to a low score of 133/9 in the first inning.
Skipper Dasun Shanaka was the top scorer with 36 off 26. Binura Fernando bowled brilliantly for 1/14 in four overs. Chasing the target, Avishka Fernando scored an unbeaten fifty. He made 70 off 49 balls, with three fours and three sixes, and made sure that Dambulla was winning the game. With this win, Dambulla has grabbed the top spot with 8 points.
