Cricket is known to be an equal battle between the thinking power and physical power. While the players can take advantage of their fitness levels, some players are smart enough to use their brains to fool their opponents.

We have seen how the foreign players get fooled by the Indian players and yesterday during the 2nd ODI match between India and Australia, there was one more instance of such kind which included both Rohit Sharma and Marnus Labuschagne.

Aaron Finch and David Warner, the match-winners for Australia in the first ODI at Mumbai, lost their wickets in the run chase at Rajkot. This invited Marnus Labuschagne to come out in the middle and play his debut ODI innings. He had the support of former captain Steve Smith in the middle.

Smith and Labuschagne were building a solid partnership for the fourth wicket however, there was one moment during their partnership which caught the attention of the fans. While facing an over from left-arm chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav, Marnus Labuschagne attempted a shot which sent the ball behind the stumps.

The batsmen felt that they would easily complete a double but, Rohit faked a throw and limited the batsman to one run only. Marnus Labuschagne was completely fooled by the Mumbai-born batsman’s antics as he used his street-smart Mumbaikar mind to trouble the Australian player.

Often it happens that the batsman cannot notice the ball in the lights. So, they note the fielding actions of the player near to the ball and decide whether to run or not. This mishap has been banned by ICC and is considered against the spirit of cricket however, they umpires did not notice Rohit Sharma in this controversy hence, the right-handed batsman got away with no demerit points.
