Watch: Sreesanth breathes fire with the ball; dismiss Pakistani duo in his first over in US Masters T10 League match

The ex-Indian fast bowler, Sreesanth recaptured a sense of nostalgia as he clinched four wickets for Morrisville Unity during Wednesday night’s ongoing US Masters T10 match in Lauderhill.

Despite his commendable four-wicket haul, his efforts were in vain. He managed to dismiss Pakistani duo Mohammad Hafeez and Mukhtar Ahmed early on in the second over, which left the opposition struggling at a score of 12 for 2.

In a US Masters T10 League 2023 match at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium in Lauderhill, the opening pair of Mohammad Hafeez and Mukhtar Ahmed from the Texas Chargers managed to secure 10 runs during the initial over. This over was delivered by their fellow Pakistani player, Najaf Shah.

In the following over, at the command of Morrisville Unity’s captain Harbhajan Singh, S Sreesanth took the ball to bowl. The opening batsman Mukhtar managed to secure a single off the first delivery, while Mohammad Hafeez connected with the second ball, sending it towards mid-wicket, Chris Gayle was positioned there and managed to catch the ball skillfully.

Following Ben Dunk’s single, Mukhtar attempted a powerful hit but was caught by Obus Pienaar at deep extra cover during the 4th ball of Sreesanth’s over. Darren Stevens then took charge, scoring 36 runs off 18 balls and driving Texas to a score of 94-4 after eight overs.

Upon Sreesanth’s return, Stevens launched the first ball for a six, but Sreesanth retaliated by dismissing Stevens and Upul Tharanga with the subsequent three deliveries. Sreesanth’s figures stood at 4-12 in two overs, restricting Texas to 109-7.

In response, Morrisville struggled to reach 75-8, with only Shehan Jayasuriya (22 runs in 16 balls) and Corey Anderson (16 not out in 17) managing to enter double-digit scores.

In terms of Texas’ bowling performance, Hafeez concluded with figures of 3-10, Sohail Tanvir secured 2-8, and Fidel Edwards maintained figures of 2-10, all within their allotted two overs each.
