Reacting to his team’s win on the third day of the Test itself, captain Pat Cummins said:

“Amazing turnaround, to be honest none of us believed the match to get over so fast. Really proud of the squad with the way they responded to foreign conditions and everybody played outstandingly well. We are really clear in our planning and the bravery and the proactiveness shown especially by our batters was fantastic.”

While Warner was ecstatic after scoring the winning runs in the second innings, he had a painful incident while he was fielding in the slip region. Most fans would have seen the video of David diving forward and taking an excellent catch on the opening day of the ICC World Test Championship series between the Australian cricket team and the Sri Lankan cricket team.

It seems like he was too focused on the ball during the entire ICC World Test Championship match as he missed seeing a stump bail coming towards him. During the Sri Lankan cricket team’s batting, a ball clipped the bails and then flew in the air behind the wicket. Warner went for the catch, but did not see the bail coming and got hit on the box.
