Root has been classified as one of greatest ever player to play for England ever since he made his debut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Joe Root as England Test Captain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Joe Root has lead the England Test team in 55 Test matches and has recorded 27 wins in all of that, 1 ahead of Michael Vaughan&#8217;s 26 wins as England captain. Ever since that, Root has been the mainstay of that English middle order. He has played 108 Test matches as of 3rd Test against India in 2021 and has scored 9221 runs.
