IPL 2024 Auction will happen in a few months, and the BCCI will request the franchises to release the players they do not wish to keep in their squads for the 2024 season. The 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League was quite exciting. However, not every player enjoyed out there in the middle this season.
Several big names failed to make an impact for their respective franchises. In this listicle now, we will look at the one player which each team might release before IPL 2024 Auction.
1. RR – Riyan Parag
Uncapped Indian all-rounder Riyan Parag could not impress much in IPL 2023. He struggled to finish the matches for RR, which is why the team may release him.
2. MI – Chris Jordan
Chris Jordan joined MI as a replacement and leaked runs in a majority of the matches. If Jofra Archer is available next year, Mumbai may release Jordan.
3. CSK – Ben Stokes
A majority of the players performed well for CSK. They might release Ben Stokes because of his hefty price tag and unavailability in the playoffs due to English summer.
4. SRH – Washington Sundar
All-rounder Washington Sundar has missed many matches because of injuries. SRH may think twice before retaining him in the squad.
5. DC – Manish Pandey
Veteran Indian batter Manish Pandey could not bring his experience to the fore in IPL 2023. DC may release him before the IPL 2024 Auction.
6. KKR – Mandeep Singh
Another experienced batter who could not get going in IPL 2023 was Mandeep Singh. The right-handed batter may return to the auction pool next year.
7. PBKS – Matthew Short
PBKS signed Matthew Short as a replacement for Jonny Bairstow. With Bairstow expected to be available in 2024, Punjab may release Short.
8. GT – Dasun Shanaka
Like Matthew Short, Dasun Shanaka joined IPL 2023 as a replacement and could not impress much. GT may prefer Kane Williamson over Shanaka.
9. RCB – Dinesh Karthik
Dinesh Karthik was quite impressive in 2022, but his IPL 2023 form was not up to the mark. RCB may look to sign a young wicket-keeper at this year’s auction.
10. LSG – Deepak Hooda
LSG backed Deepak Hooda a lot in IPL 2023. However, the all-rounder could not set the tournament on fire. It will be interesting to see if LSG retain him before IPL 2024 Auction.
