Pat Cummins is already confirmed as a pacer who will lead his side at the event. Similarly, there are a few all-rounders who will do the job later this year in India.
1) Shakib Al Hasan – Bangladesh
After Tamim Iqbal stepped down as the skipper of Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan has been named as the new skipper. In the past, as well, Shakib has led Bangladesh on many occasions. Hence, it is not a different experience for the Asian squad to be led by an all-rounder. Shakib will have a crucial role to play in this tournament, which might also be his last one. He should contribute in both departments for Bangladesh to have a good run.
2) Dasun Shanaka – Sri Lanka
Dasun Shanaka is one of the all-rounders who will be captains in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Interestingly, Dasun was not even a part of the squad that travelled to England back in 2019. However, cut to four years later, he is the captain of the side. An all-rounder, Shanaka has helped Sri Lanka regain some form after some controversies. Under him, the squad looks settled and even won the Asia Cup last year. While his major role will be with the bat, he will also be expected to bowl a few overs.
