Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will play their next match of IPL 2024 against Mumbai Indians (MI) tomorrow evening at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Both franchises started their respective IPL 2024 campaigns with a loss each.
Mumbai Indians suffered a defeat in a high-voltage clash against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday evening. On the other side, the Sunrisers Hyderabad could not beat the Kolkata Knight Riders in a high-scoring thriller at the Eden Gardens.
Ahead of the SRH vs MI match, Sunrisers Hyderabad would have analyzed the mistakes that they made in the game against Kolkata Knight Riders, and here’s a look at the two probable changes which the Orange Army might make.
1. SRH may drop Aiden Markram for the match against MI
Sunrisers Hyderabad dropped Aiden Markram as the team’s captain after an embarrassing performance in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League. This year, they used him as a middle-order batter in the first match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, but Markram failed to get going, just like he has been inconsistent with the bat in the past.
Hyderabad have a gun player in Travis Head sitting on the bench right now. It will be a wise move if Hyderabad drop Markram and give Head a place in the team.
2. Marco Jansen out, Glenn Phillips
It was baffling to see Sunrisers Hyderabad pick Marco Jansen in the team. They already had three quality pacers in Pat Cummins, T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Had Glenn Phillips been there in the playing XI instead of Jansen against KKR, SRH would have won that match. Nevertheless, they still have 13 matches, and Phillips should walk into the team.
