ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be a spectacle for the cricket fans living in the West Indies and the United States. For the first time in the tournament’s history, it will take place in WI and USA. 20 teams from across the globe will be a part of this competition.

Inaugural champions India will start as the favorites to lift the trophy because they have been quite dominant in T20I cricket in recent years. The Indian team was also quite dominant in the ICC World Cup 2023, which happened in India last year.

The Men in Blue won all nine league matches and the semifinal against New Zealand before losing against Australia in the final. It should not be surprising if a majority of the players from that Indian squad participate in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 as well. But here’s a list of two all-rounders who might not make it.

    1. Shardul Thakur may not play in ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Shardul Thakur was present in the Indian squad as a pace-bowling all-rounder for the 2023 World Cup. The right-arm pacer even played a few matches, but he could not make much of an impact.

Thakur has been a wicket-taking bowler in cricket, but the all-rounder may miss the flight to West Indies because of the presence of other players.

    2. Ravichandran Ashwin

Whenever an ICC event comes around, the BCCI calls Ravichandran Ashwin back into the team. It happened in T20 World Cup 2021 and 2022 as well as the 2023 World Cup. However, it may not happen in 2024 because the selectors already have to choose from Ravi Bishnoi, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav, who have been splendid in the T20I format.
