Especially in a Cricket World Cup year, it is important to find the right talent to represent the nation. A coach has plenty of tasks to execute and it becomes important for him to receive good support in having a top squad. The Chairman of Selectors helps in this regard.

    1) South Africa

Victor Mpitsang was the last convenor of selectors for Cricket South Africa. However, a few months ago, he was removed from the role. Since then, CSA has maintained that the coaches will be involved in the selection of the teams. The board felt that coaches selecting a team would help the squad in the long run. However, they did say that it was being done on an experimental basis. It needs to be seen if a new Selector will be announced soon.
