IPL 2024 Hindi commentators has been released by Star Sports and JioCinema. Both broadcasters have decided to have their own unique set of commentators for the Hindi coverage. Generally, the Indian cricketers or Indian personalities take up this role.
However, a slow change has been witnessed in this direction. Recently, fans saw that former England batter Owais Shah was working as a Hindi commentator for the India vs England series on Colors Cineplex. Now, there will be two other foreign cricketers, who will work as Hindi commentators for IPL 2024 on Star Sports.
One of the two players is from South Africa, while the other hails from the United States of America. Here’s a list of the two names.
1. One of the Hindi commentators for IPL 2024 – Imran Tahir
Former IPL Purple Cap winner Imran Tahir will continue to do Hindi commentary for the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League. Tahir was a part of the Hindi panel for Star Sports in 2023 as well. He has retained his position in the team, meaning that fans should expect a few more tales related to the Chennai Super Kings during his stint on TV. During his stint last season, Tahir said:
“I played for 27 teams in my career. Playing for Chennai Super Kings was special as it was like a family. My association with them will also remain close to my heart.”
2. Unmukt Chand
Former India U-19 World Cup winning captain Unmukt Chand has moved to the United States of America now. As per reports, Chand will also feature in the USA squad, which will play in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 later this year.
Chand has signed a contract with Star Sports to work as a Hindi commentary. During his peak, Chand played for the Delhi Daredevils, Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
