There is a lot of scope for foreign coaches in the Indian Premier League. Here, we take a look at the list of two T20 World Cup winning Head Coaches who are assistant coaches in IPL 2025.
Interestingly, there are a few cases wherein a former T20 World Cup winning Head Coach is an assistant coach in the IPL. However, it is not surprising because some of these coaches have not been at their tactical best in recent years.
1) Matthew Mott
Matthew Mott made the Australian women’s team an invincible squad. He won multiple trophies with them. Later, he got a chance to become the Head Coach of the England white-ball squad.
It was a good start for the Aussie as he won the T20 World Cup in 2022. However, the team faltered under him after that. The squad had a bad run in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Therefore, he was replaced by Brendon McCullum. Now, Matthew is an assistant coach at the Delhi Capitals.
2) Ottis Gibson is one of the assistant coaches in IPL 2025
Ottis Gibson is one of the T20 World Cup winning Head Coaches who are assistant coaches in IPL 2025. The West Indian led his nation to the T20 World Cup victory back in 2012. He is a well-known name in the franchise circuit, as well.
It appears that Dwayne Bravo has had an influence on his appointment at KKR. He is an experienced coach and will help the side do well in IPL 2025.
