The likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul were key batters for India in the last challenge. However, there was a lot of depth in each department back then due to the COVID-19 era. A lot of these players are not in the picture right now. That said, a few of them have an outside chance to make it to the Indian squad for the upcoming Tour, as well.

    1) Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw was given a chance in that series, but he did not get a game. However, his game has gone down since then. Once touted as the next big thing in Indian cricket, his stocks have reduced a lot now. There are quite a few other young openers, such as Yashasvi Jaiswal and B Sai Sudharsan, who are more relevant to the context now.

    2) Abhimanyu Easwaran was in the squad when India last toured England

The West Bengal cricketer was a part of the Indian Team for the recent tour of Australia, as well. However, he did not get a game. Now, it looks difficult for him to get a spot, especially because Sai Sudharsan has been in brilliant touch. Also, KL Rahul is likely to play all the games in England as the opener.

    3) Hanuma Vihari

After his brilliant knock in Australia, many felt that Vihari would get a long rope in the Indian Team. However, that did not happen. Vihari hardly got any chance after that game, and he dropped out of the Indian squad within a few months. At the domestic level, as well, Vihari is not in great form at the moment. It will be very hard for him to make a comeback.
