The Indian Premier League 2024 will get underway on March 22, when the defending champion Chennai Super Kings will take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. This will start the 17th edition of the world’s biggest cricket league. CSK will look to defend their title and get their hands on a record 6th title. They have the teams to do that, and the franchise bought some valuable players for the IPL 2024.
MS Dhoni will be back as a captain, and whether he retires or not, he will look to make this season another memorable edition for the fans. 3. Daryl Mitchell
Kiwi all-rounder Daryl Mitchell was one of the most expensive players at the IPL 2024 auction. A few teams were fighting for him, and in the end, it was CSK that bought him at a price of INR 14 crore. He went unsold in 2023 and will be making a lot of money in the coming season. With this, he will earn 2 crore more than MS Dhoni (INR 12 crore).
2. Deepak Chahar
Indian bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar is a regular face in the CSK setup. He was released by the team in 2022, but the franchise bought him again at the 2022 auction for a heavy price of INR 14 crore. He will be getting a similar fee for the IPL 2024. Chahar has struggled with injuries over the years, but he is fit enough to feature in all games in the coming season. So far, he has taken 71 wickets in 68 matches for CSK.
1. Ravindra Jadeja
Veteran Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been part of the CSK team since 2012 and has been a core player over the years. Jadeja was named captain of the side ahead of 2022. Though it didn’t work and he was replaced in the midway point of the season, after getting the captaincy, his fee was increased to INR 16 crore, which is similar in the IPL 2024 as well.
