Rahul Dravid has stepped down as the Head Coach of the Rajasthan Royals. There are rumours that Kumar Sangakkara could return to the role. Here, we take a look at the list of three former players the Rajasthan Royals can hire as the next Head Coach.
RR would need to reset their squad to do well in the coming season. The current unit, especially in the bowling departments, lacks the penetration to dominate the opposition batters.
1) Shane Watson
Shane Watson is now an established T20 coach. A Rajasthan Royals legend, it would be fitting to have him as a Coach. He has sufficient experience in various T20 leagues to make an impact. His modern ideas will also help the young side.
2) R Ashwin is one of the former players the Rajasthan Royals can hire as the next Head Coach
Now that Ashwin has retired from IPL, it would not be a surprise if he instantly looks for a coaching gig. He is an intelligent cricketer and he would fit perfectly for the role of a Head Coach. Yes, he might need experience in the role but as a player, he has a lot of games under his belt and that could help him make the transition instantly.
3) Adam Voges
Adam Voges is an underrated Head Coach in the T20 format. He has experience of being a part of multiple T20 tournaments. A quality coach, he has a strong brand of cricket that gets played under him. The Aussie would suit the needs of RR at the moment.
