The Indian T20I Team is on the rise. There is immense competition for the spots. Here, we take a look at the list of three Indians who played 1 T20I in recent years and vanished after that.
The Indian Team can be ruthless for some players. All a player could have is just one game to showcase his potential. If he misses out, it could mean a permanent exit from the squad.
1) Prithvi Shaw
At one point in time, many saw Prithvi Shaw as the future skipper of the team. However, the Mumbai cricketer’s career has not panned in the way he would have liked. Fitness and form have been major factors in Prithvi’s downfall. He does not even have an IPL contract now. That said, he has the age and the potential to make a strong comeback.
2) Sandeep Warrier is one of the Indians who played just 1 T20I game
Sandeep Warrier is one of the Indians who played 1 T20I in recent years and vanished after that. The Tamil Nadu pacer was a part of the team that visited Sri Lanka while the regular team was in England. Hence, he got a game to play. However, despite some impressive domestic outings, Sandeep did not get a match after that. A quality cricketer, he would want to be a regular in the IPL before playing for India again. He does not have an IPL contract now.
3) Mayank Markhande
He impressed for Mumbai Indians and soon got to play for India. However, Yuzvendra Chahal was at his peak at that time. Therefore, it was a struggle for the Punjab spinner to make an impact. Nevertheless, if he has a fine IPL 2025 for KKR, he can surely make a comeback to the Indian setup.
