It needs to be noted that the recent announcement by BCCI is just a provisional squad. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three Indians who still have a chance to play in the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy.
The England ODI series will be key for the selectors to decide the final squad. A few players could still have a chance to get on the flight to the UAE for the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy.
1) Mohammed Siraj
Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami both have injury issues. Arshdeep Singh is a newbie in the ODI format. Hence, it was surprising to see Siraj not get a place on the ODI side. In fact, he has also not been picked for the England ODI series. Nevertheless, if the injury crisis intensifies, India could be forced to get Siraj back.
2) Harshit Rana could still play in the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy
Harshit Rana is one of the Indians who still have a chance to play in the ICC 2025 Champions Trophy. The Delhi pacer is clearly ahead of Siraj on the pecking order right now. Therefore, if India has some injury issues in the pace department, Harshit is likely to get his chance. For that, he must be at his best in the coming weeks.
3) Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson missed out on an ICC event yet again. However, he has the England T20I series to make a point once more. If Rishabh Pant is not at his best in the England ODI series, the selectors could consider having Sanju Samson for the Champions Trophy.
