Apart from on-field performances, the cricket stars have also grabbed the headlines with their aggression on the field. Often the passion brings out the aggressive side of the gentlemen who play the game and they even end up having fights with the opponents.

    There have also been instances when some lesser-known new cricketers decided to pick up fights with the seniors of the game. Their names popped up into the headlines due to the same. Here’s a list of three such lesser-known players.

    1. One of the current Afghanistan cricketers – Naveen-ul-Haq

    Naveen-ul-Haq is one of the top fast bowlers to emerge from Afghanistan. The youngster has impressed fans with his bowling, but apart from that, Naveen has also grabbed the headlines for his fights with some of the biggest names in world cricket.

    When he participated in the 2020 edition of the Lanka Premier League, Naveen had a spat with Pakistan’s top cricketers Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Amir. In IPL 2023, Naveen had a fight with Virat Kohli and even took shots via Instagram by posting about ‘sweet mangoes’.

    2. One of the current West Indies cricketers – Kesrick Williams

    Back in 2017, Kesrick Williams elebrated with a check-book celebration when he picked up the wicket of Virat Kohli in a T20I match between the Indian cricket team and the West Indies cricket team. Virat did not forget and decided to bring a check book of his own when he hit Williams for boundaries in 2019. Later in the series, when Williams dismissed Kohli again, he gestured to remain silent.

    3. Amila Aponso

    Sri Lankan cricketer Amila Aponso played only three T20Is in his career. One of them was in the Nidahas Trophy 2018. Aponso brought out the flute when he dismissed Mushfiqur Rahim. In case you didn’t know, Bangladesh players would celebrate with the Naagin Dance in that tournament, and Aponso took a shot at the same.
