Prithvi Shaw destroyed Shivam Mavi in the first over of a match between the Delhi Capitals and the Kolkata Knight Riders during the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. Shaw smacked six fours off six balls, becoming the first batter to score 24 runs in the first over of any match in the league’s history.
2. Sunil Narine – 21 runs
Kolkata Knight Riders surprised many fans when they started to use Sunil Narine as an opener in the 2017 season. Narine was a pinch-hitter, who could score lots of runs by taking advantage of the powerplay fielding restrictions. Narine once destroyed Krishnappa Gowtham in a match against RR in 2018, scoring 21 runs off the first over bowled by him.
