Chennai Super Kings will have to do well in the upcoming auctions. They could revisit a few targets they had earlier added to their wishlist. Here, we take a look at the list of three players CSK bid for in the IPL 2025 Auctions and might target again.
CSK did not do well in IPL 2025. It could be said that they were a bit complacent at the auctions. They must avoid this mistake before the next season.
Note: This article assumes that these players would be released ahead of IPL 2026 based on their form in IPL 2025.
1) Glenn Maxwell
Maxwell‘s form might not be great in the IPL. However, for Australia, he has been consistent. Also, R Ashwin is not there, and Maxi can offer right-arm off-spin. Since he now plays as a finisher, he could also have a role at CSK.
2) Tushar Deshpande might be subject to another CSK bid in IPL 2026 Auctions
Tushar could be released by RR. He is on a big salary, and RR might not be able to afford it. On the other hand, CSK could look to get him back as Tushar has done well for them. He could be used with the new ball and he also has variations to do well at the death.
3) Liam Livingstone
CSK needs a big-hitting finisher. Livingstone could be released by RCB. Hence, CSK could target the English cricketer. Just like Maxwell, Livi also offers a bit of spin, which could be useful at Chennai.
