Mumbai Indians will have a massive headache when finalizing their list of retained players for the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. The BCCI officials have confirmed that the mega auction will return in the year 2025, with every team having the permission to retain a maximum of three or four players only.
Assuming the maximum limit is three, with the Indian players being allowed to be three as well, Mumbai Indians will have to make some bold decisions.

1. Mumbai Indians may retain Hardik Pandya
Considering that MI paid 15 crore plus an undisclosed fee for the transfer of Hardik Pandya from the Gujarat Titans, the Mumbai-based franchise will think to give him another contract as well. Pandya could be the long-term captaincy choice for MI going forward in the league.
2. Jasprit Bumrah
A fast bowler like Jasprit Bumrah is very rare in this world. Bumrah was visibly upset when other fast bowlers made big bucks at the IPL Mega Auction. Perhaps, Bumrah may think of asking for a release, but MI may be able to convince him to stay for a higher price.
3. Ishan Kishan
Ishan Kishan has been one of the top match-winners for Mumbai in the IPL. Suryakumar Yadav may not settle for a low price this time, while Rohit Sharma may also be on his way out. If MI prefer to retain another player, it will likely be Ishan, who has the ability to perform in high-pressure games.
