RCB will be one of the top teams to watch out for in the IPL 2025 Auction. Royal Challengers Bengaluru are former three-time runners-up of the Indian Premier League, and they will be keen to assemble a strong squad, which can end their trophy drought in the upcoming season.
To ensure that the squad has some firepower in the batting already, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru retained Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar in their squad ahead of the mega auction. As per Express Sports, RCB have now roped in former Kolkata Knight Riders assistant bowling coach Omkar Salvi as their bowling coach for IPL 2025. He will surely have some inputs in the auction discussion, and here are three players RCB can target based on Omkar’s advice.
1. Omkar Salvi may suggest RCB to target Shreyas Iyer at IPL 2025 Auction
Omkar Salvi has not only worked as the assistant bowling coach for KKR but also coached the Mumbai team. Shreyas Iyer has been a top performer for both sides in recent years. Plus, he is also an IPL trophy winning captain. Thus, Salvi may suggest RCB to go hard for Iyer at the mega auction.
2. Shardul Thakur
During his initial days as a cricketer, Shardul Thakur trained with Omkar Salvi. In fact, KKR also traded in Thakur from Delhi Capitals when Salvi was a part of the franchise. Thus, it should not be a surprise if RCB proves to be the new home of Thakur.
3. Suyash Sharma
Uncapped leg-spinner Suyash Sharma emerged as a game-changer for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the last few seasons. He would thrive at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, just like Yuzvendra Chahal, and Omkar Salvi may suggest his name to the RCB backroom staff as well.
