A few players have recently announced their retirements. However, considering their form and the situation of the team, they could decide to play in the Champions Trophy.
1) Naveen-ul-Haq
Naveen-ul-Haq is one of the players who might reverse their retirement decision to play in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. One of the shocking decisions made before the World Cup was that of Naveen. He decided to retire from ODIs after the 2023 ODI World Cup. However, now, Afghanistan looks all set to play in the Champions Trophy. If that is the case, Naveen might consider his decision to announce retirement. He could, as well, lead the pace attack in Pakistan.
2) Quinton de Kock
Quinton de Kock has been in sensational form in ODI WC 2023. With his team also doing well, the wicket-keeper batter will want to try once more to help South Africa win an ICC title. He still has the age and with his form also helping him, Quinton could take back his retirement and continue representing the Proteas. It would be a big win for South Africa if the talented cricketer changed his mind in this regard.
3) Alex Hales
England will undergo some major changes after the 2023 ODI World Cup. Assuming they qualify for the 2025 Champions Trophy, it will be interesting to see which players get a chance to feature in it. Alex Hales is a solid contender and for that, he might have to take back his retirement, which he announced a few months ago. If he is ready to do that, Hales definitely has a career left in him in the 50-over format.
