The auction for the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League will be held in Dubai, UAE, on December 19. All ten IPL teams have released some players ahead of the auction. A total of 1165 players will feature at the IPL 2024 auction, with some of the biggest superstars in the game.
However, there are a few released players who will be looking to get new teams. In this article, we will talk about three players who were released by their respective franchises but are doing pretty well in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 League 2023. Some IPL teams must be keeping an eye on their current form and will look to sign them at the auction.
3. James Neesham
Veteran Kiwi all-rounder James Neesham was part of the Rajasthan Royals team in 2022. He didn’t get any buyers in 2023, but he has registered for the upcoming IPL 2024 auction with a base price of INR 1.5 crore. The all-rounder is part of the Northern Warriors and has done well. He has taken 7 wickets in just five matches and is the joint-highest wicket-taker. He might attract a few franchises because of his all-round ability.
2. Rovman Powell
Rovman Powell was part of the Delhi Capitals for two seasons (2022 and 2023). But he didn’t get many chances in 2023. Hence, the franchise released him ahead of the auction. But he is doing a pretty great job in the T10 league. Powell is the captain of the Delhi Bulls, and they are at the top of the points table. The skipper has scored 122 runs at an average of 61 and a strike rate of 265.22.
3. Jason Holder
Jason Holder is a well-known face in franchise cricket. He was part of RR in the last edition, but the franchise released him. On the other hand, he is part of the Morrisville Samp Army in the Abu Dhabi T10 league. Holder has done a pretty good job. He has taken 7 wickets in just four matches at an economy rate of 7.50. He hasn’t had many chances with the bat, but he is a capable all-rounder and an excellent death bowler.
