IPL 2023 Auction will happen next Friday in Kochi. Ahead of the mini auction, the BCCI allowed all players to register themselves for the auction. 991 players from different parts of the world registered their names for the mini auction. Out of them, the 10 franchises shortlisted 369 names. 36 extra names were added to the list after the suggestions from franchises.
So, in all, there are 405 players in the final list of IPL 2023 Auction. Only a maximum of 87 will earn contracts from the teams. Surprisingly, there is not a single Indian player present in the list of cricketers with a base price of 2 crore and a base price of 1.5 crore. Players like Mayank Agarwal and Manish Pandey have opted for a base price of 1 crore.
There are three senior capped Indian cricketers who are not even present on the list of players to be auctioned. Here’s a list of those three names:
1. Cheteshwar Pujara is not in IPL 2023 Auction
Veteran Indian Test batter Cheteshwar Pujara has surprisingly not enrolled himself for the mini auction. Pujara has performed well in white-ball cricket in recent times. However, the former Royal Challengers Bangalore star did not put his name in the list of players to be auctioned.
Pujara will likely utilize the time away from the IPL to play county cricket in England. The World Test Championship Final will take place in England as well.
2. Hanuma Vihari is not in IPL 2023 Auction
Another Indian Test team player who has not registered for the auction is Hanuma Vihari. He once represented SunRisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals in the league.
3. Kedar Jadhav
Former Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Kedar Jadhav registered himself in the 1 crore base price category. However, his name is not present in the final list of players to be auctioned for IPL 2023.
