Despite a couple of rollicking seasons featuring the likes of 2022 and 2023, English hard-hitter Liam Livingstone missed out on rocking the show in 2024. Playing seven matches, he could only score 111 runs at a strike rate of 142.31. With that being said, there is a high probability that he may be dropped from the Punjab Kings side ahead of the 2025 IPL mega-auction.
In case if Punjab Kings let go of Liam Livingstone, here are three IPL franchises that might come for him in the mega-auction:
#1 Royal Challengers Bengaluru
With Faf du Plessis being kept under the axe and with too much of intense deliberations going on, RCB will love to have Liam Livingstone in their side. He is a like-for-like replacement for Faf du Plessis as he can go hard after the bowlers from the first ball itself while maintaining the tempo until the very end of his innings. His inclusion will bolster RCB’s top-order a lot after shaky moments in 2024.
#2 Lucknow Super Giants
With KL Rahul’s availability for the Lucknow Super Giants still being a question mark, LSG might just one someone at the top of the innings to align forces with Quinton de Kock.
Liam Livingstone and QDK firing on the same day can very well spell the doom for any opposition or any bowler whatsoever, especially in T20 cricket.
#3 Delhi Capitals
It is still unsure about what combination may Delhi Capitals eye for. With rumours of Rishabh Pant heading for another franchise, they will need big names to step up. Young Jake Fraser-McGurk will be a very potent option at the top of the innings and if DC can bring in Liam Livingstone, the duo can very well be one of the most destructive pairs of the IPL just like Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma lit up the last edition of the tournament.
