KKR can take a few surprising calls by retaining an extra uncapped player along with Harshit Rana. This will help their finances and also secure the services of a good young Indian cricketer.
1) Angkrish Raghuvanshi
The teenage batter did well in his initial games in IPL 2024. Yes, he lost a bit of form later on but that is bound to happen to a cricketer who is still young and developing. That said, you could see in him that there is talent and potential for the future. He could be an opening or a No.3 batter. KKR might want a young Indian batter for the future and Angkrish can be a solid choice.
2) Ramandeep Singh is an option for KKR along with Harshit Rana
Ramandeep Singh is one of the uncapped players whom KKR can retain along with Harshit Rana. Since the Impact Player Rule is still there, someone like Ramandeep can be of great use. He is a big-hitter and can also provide a few overs of medium pace. The Punjab man is also a fine fielder. He might go beyond INR 4 Cr and hence, KKR could consider retaining the all-rounder.
3) Suyash Sharma
Suyash Sharma did really well in the last Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. However, in IPL 2024, he was not able to do well. That said, he is a young spinner and KKR might need him in the future. If KKR do not retain both Sunil Narine and Varun CV, retaining Suyash Sharma at INR 4 Cr can be a safe choice.
