Popularly known as the God of Cricket, former Indian opener Sachin Tendulkar owns the record for the highest runs scored by a batter in international matches. During his time as an active batter, Tendulkar scored 34,357 runs across all formats.
2. Virat Kohli crossed 27,000 runs mark in international cricket today
Star Indian batter Virat Kohli has become only the second player from the country to achieve this unique milestone. Playing in the ongoing Kanpur Test against Bangladesh, Virat scored his 27,000th run and soon crossed the milestone as well.
3. Kumar Sangakkara
The only left-handed batter and the only wicketkeeper batter to be present on this list is Kumar Sangakkara. The former Sri Lankan captain called it a day on his career after scoring 28,016 runs with the willow.
4. Ricky Ponting
Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting is the only batter born outside Asia to appear on this list. Ponting amassed 27,483 runs. It looks like Virat will overtake him on this list soon because India will play 8 Tests in the coming months.
