Jasprit Bumrah is the number one bowler on the current ICC ODI Rankings. Many cricket experts have labeled him as the best all-format bowler in international cricket right now. Bumrah made his international debut in 2016 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.
He has played 71 ODIs, 30 Tests and 58 T20Is for the Indian cricket team thus far, scalping more than 250 wickets in international matches. Most importantly, Jasprit Bumrah has been an impact player and match-winner for the Men in Blue.
Fans should note that multiple Indian players started their careers in 2016, but the following four names are nowhere near the Indian team right now.
1. Barinder Sran made his ODI debut before Jasprit Bumrah
Left-arm fast bowler Barinder Sran made his debut in 2016. He played six ODIs and two T20Is for India before losing his spot in the team. Sran bagged 13 wickets in those eight matches. He was a net bowler for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022.
2. Rishi Dhawan made his ODI debut before Jasprit Bumrah
All-rounder Rishi Dhawan has played three ODIs and a T20I for Team India. He made his debut before Bumrah but could not cement his spot in the squad. Dhawan has done well in domestic cricket this season, which is why he may make a comeback to the Indian team in the upcoming series.
3. Faiz Fazal
Left-handed opener Faiz Fazal scored a fifty on ODI debut against Zimbabwe. Fazal scored heaps of runs in domestic matches but never received another chance to play for the country.
4. Karun Nair
Karun Nair made his ODI debut in 2016. He is best known for his triple ton in a Test against England. Despite his extraordinary performance, Nair could not hold on to his spot in the Indian cricket team.
