KKR had the highest purse, and hence, they targeted quite a few players at the auctions. Here, we take a look at the list of four Indians KKR bid for but could not sign in the IPL 2026 Auctions.
KKR wanted to establish a strong core and also establish a future core. Hence, they went after some notable Indian names at the recently held auctions.
1) Venkatesh Iyer
Venkatesh Iyer was an obvious target for KKR. He started his career at KKR, and if not for the price-tag pressure, he might have done well last season. KKR needed another Indian middle-order batter, and Iyer would have been ideal.
2) Karthik Sharma is one of the Indians KKR bid for, but could not sign in the IPL 2026 Auctions
A domestic wicket-keeper was high on the agenda for KKR. Eventually, the Rajasthan cricketer went for a big fee and hence, KKR could not bag the cricketer.
3) Ashok Sharma
Ashok Sharma is a wicket-taker and a pacer like him would have been ideal for the side. However, the franchise could not spend a lot on the cricketer. They had already spent a lot on the likes of Mustafizur Rahman.
4) Sushant Mishra is also one of the Indians KKR bid for, but could not sign in the IPL 2026 Auctions
Spencer Johnson and Chetan Sakariya were released, and hence, KKR needed a left-arm seamer. Therefore, they tried getting Sushant but lost out to RR.
