IPL 2023 Auction will reportedly take place on December 18. This year, it will be a mini auction as the teams will retain a majority of their players from their respective IPL 2022 squads. However, there will be some big names in the auction as some of them missed the previous edition of the league.
Apart from the big names, teams will also be interested in signing players who performed well against India in T20Is this year. Last year, fans saw that Odean Smith of West Indies earned a big deal after his good performance against India. 1. Rilee Rossouw could be among the top picks for IPL 2023
Rilee Rossouw will be a player to watch out for at the auctions. He remained unsold this year but recently scored a top-quality hundred against India. Rossouw recently said: “The auction is not in my control. It was not even on my mind. I was just trying to get one run tonight first. It panned out pretty well for me.”
2. Keshav Maharaj
Overseas spinners generally have low demand in IPL but Keshav Maharaj is also a reliable lower order batting option and a captaincy candidate. He could be an asset for one of the IPL teams.
3. Cameron Green
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green can bat at any position and bowl 140 kmph. It should not be a surprise if he goes for a big price at the next auction, especially after his splendid performance against India.
4. Dasun Shanaka could start his IPL career in 2023
Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka was quite impressive with the willow in the three-match T20I series against India earlier this year. He could make his debut in the IPL 2023 season.
