St Lucia Kings is the sister franchise of IPL team Punjab Kings. The St Lucia-based franchise is a part of the Caribbean Premier League, where there are five other teams participating as well. CPL is more than a decade old, and many overseas stars also play in this tournament.
The St Lucia-based team has one of the most stacked squads in the competition. They have some extraordinary talents, who can be useful to the Punjab Kings in the IPL as well. Here’s a list of four such players.
1. St Lucia Kings captain Faf du Plessis
At the age of 40, Faf du Plessis continues to be one of the top-rated batters in T20 leagues. Teams love to have him in their squads. His batting and fielding skills are top notch. If he is available in the auction, PBKS should try to rope him in as their next captain.
2. St Lucia Kings batter Aaron Jones
So far, only one American cricketer has been a part of an IPL team, and he is Ali Khan, who was with KKR in 2020. Punjab Kings can join KKR in that elite club now if they try to recruit hard-hitter Aaron Jones, who already plays for their sister franchise in CPL.
3. Alzarri Joseph
Alzarri Joseph received the biggest deal of his life from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru team in IPL 2024. However, he could not justify that price tag. He is a talented fast bowler, and if given a proper chance, Joseph can emerge as a game-changer for the Kings.
4. Noor Ahmad
Considering the mega auction rules, it seems unlikely that the Gujarat Titans will retain their rising star from Afghanistan, Noor Ahmad. In that case, Punjab Kings should try and sign him. The left-arm wrist-spinner plays for St Lucia in the ongoing CPL tournament.
