The record for the fastest World Cup hundred was held by Kevin O’Brien when he smashed a 50-ball ton against England in 2011 in the preious best chase. But now that record is held by South Africa’s Aiden Markram. He smashed a 49-ball ton against Sri Lanka in Delhi when South Africa made 428/5.

4. Most World Cup Centuries

Before this tournament, Rohit Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar jointly held the record for most centuries in World Cup history. Sachin had six hundreds in 44 innings, and Rohit scored six in 18 innings. But Rohit smashed a 63-ball ton (fastest by an Indian in World Cup) against Afghanistan in Delhi, registered his 7th World Cup hundred, and broke Sachin’s record. Now Rohit has most World Cup hundreds.
