Big Bash League 2023/24 has started. It is the number one T20 league of Australia. As always, there are eight clubs playing in the BBL. The names of the eight sides are Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Sydney Thunder, Sydney Sixers, Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades and Perth Scorchers.
There are many big names of the cricket world, who are playing in the BBL. While the star power of this league is not the same as the IPL, some forgotten IPL stars are playing in BBL this season. Here’s a list of five such players.
1. Corey Anderson is playing in Big Bash League
Former Mumbai Indians all-rounder Corey Anderson is a part of the Hobart Hurricanes team in the BBL. Anderson has moved to USA now and will soon make his debut for America.
2. Billy Stanlake is playing in Big Bash League
Tall Australian fast bowler Billy Stanlake was a match-winner for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018. He also played for RCB before that. Stanlake is a part of Hobart Hurricanes as well.
3. Sam Billings
Sam Billings has been a top performer for the Chennai Super Kings in the past. The England wicketkeeper batter is playing for the Brisbane Heat team in the BBL 2023/24 season.
4. Shaun Marsh
Shaun Marsh was the first cricketer to win the IPL Orange Cap. He played for Punjab Kings from 2008 to 2017. It might surprise a few fans that Shaun is still playing for Melbourne Renegades in BBL.
5. Chris Lynn
Not long ago, Chris Lynn was one of the most destructive openers in the world. He is no longer the best Australian T20 opener, but Lynn continues to play for the Adelaide Strikers team in BBL.
