Tamim Iqbal stunned the cricket fans by announcing his retirement from all formats of international cricket earlier today. The former Bangladesh captain, who led his nation in an ODI against Afghanistan yesterday, has retired today. Iqbal called for a press conference, where he announced this big decision.
Iqbal was one of the biggest match-winners for the Bangladesh cricket team. He played several memorable knocks for his team at the international level. The left-handed batter was a part of Pune Warriors in IPL from 2012 to 2013. He never played a game in the league but got the chance to share the dressing room with the following five big names.
1. Tamim Iqbal was under Sourav Ganguly’s captaincy
Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly was the skipper of the Pune Warriors team when Iqbal joined the franchise. Since Ganguly was a left-handed opener as well, Iqbal would have got some valuable tips.
