Sunrisers Hyderabad were one of the late entrants in the Indian Premier League. Initially, Deccan Chargers were a part of the league from 2008 to 2012. In 2013, SRH replaced them. Since then, Hyderabad team has been a part of every IPL season.

Nicknamed the Orange Army, Hyderabad won the 2016 edition of the Indian Premier League. However, their performance in the last two seasons has not been up to the mark. Some fans think that the team management made a mistake by releasing the following six players:

    1. Rashid Khan

Leg-spinner Rashid Khan played a pivotal role in SRH’s success from 2017 to 2021. However, before IPL 2022, Hyderabad could not convince him to continue with the franchise. He joined Gujarat Titans.

Another big name whom SRH released before IPL 2022 was David Warner. The Australian star was a consistent performer for the team and even won IPL 2016 as captain.

    3. Trent Boult

Kiwi speedster Trent Boult is one of the best pacers in T20 cricket right now. But when he was at SRH, he was benched by the team and subsequently released.

    4. Former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Shikhar Dhawan

Left-handed Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has achieved much success in IPL. He moved to Delhi Capitals in 2019, but before that, he was a match-winner for SRH in many seasons.

    5. KL Rahul

KL Rahul has been so consistent in the IPL that some fans consider him the new Mr. IPL. Rahul has scored heaps of runs, but SRH had traded him to RCB back in the year 2016.

    6. Quinton de Kock

KL Rahul’s current LSG opening partner Quinton de Kock was also a part of the Orange Army once. But Hyderabad released him after the 2013 season only. He then moved to Delhi Daredevils.
