Most Indian cricketers who debut after playing well in the IPL often are more successful in the white-ball formats. Hence, they consistently play ODIs and T20Is for the Indian cricket team, but they have to wait a little longer for their maiden Test cap. In this listicle today, we will have a look at eight active Indian cricketers who are yet to make their Test debut.

1. One of the top Indian cricketers in white-ball formats: Yuzvendra Chahal

Yuzvendra Chahal is one of the most popular Indian cricketers at the moment. He is a right-arm leg-spinner who plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

Chahal has played 56 ODI matches and 49 T20I matches so far in his career. He has taken more than 150 international wickets but is yet to feature in the Indian Test team.

2. Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya is the elder brother of all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Like Hardik, Krunal is an all-rounder as well, but he bats left-handed and bowls left-arm spin.

Krunal has represented India in five ODIs and 19 T20I matches. He has done well in both formats and might receive a place in the Test team if he performs well in first-class cricket.

3. One of the Indian cricketers to play in 2019 World Cup – Vijay Shankar

Another all-rounder to appear on this list is Tamil Nadu’s Vijay Shankar. The pace-bowling all-rounder played for India in the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

Shankar has played 12 ODI matches and nine T20 internationals for the country. He has played 45 first-class games but has not received his maiden Test cap so far.

4. Khaleel Ahmed

Khaleel Ahmed is one of the top left-arm fast bowlers in India. He has performed brilliantly in the T20 format, scalping wickets at regular intervals.

Ahmed has got an opportunity to play 11 ODIs and 14 T20Is in his career so far. He will aim to make his Test debut for the Indian team soon.

5. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer is one of the best middle-order batters in India right now. In the Indian Premier League, Iyer is the skipper of the Delhi Capitals team.

Iyer has played more than 50 international matches and more than 50 first-class games as well. It will be interesting to see when he makes his Test debut.

6. Manish Pandey

Another middle-order batsman to feature on this unique list is Manish Pandey. Manish won the ICC U-19 World Cup in the year 2008 under Virat Kohli’s leadership.

The right-handed batsman has played 29 ODIs and 39 T20I matches for the nation. He has scored more than 6,000 first-class runs and will be keen to make his Test debut soon.

7. One of the Indian cricketers to play in 2019 World Cup – Kedar Jadhav

Kedar Jadhav has played 73 ODI matches and nine T20 internationals for India. He has lost his place in the Indian cricket team right now.

The 36-year-old will have to bring his ‘A’ game to the table in the first-class arena to ensure he plays a few Test matches for the country. Jadhav had made his first-class debut back in 2007/08.

8. Mohit Sharma

Mohit Sharma was one of the fast bowlers who played for India in the 2015 Cricket World Cup. Like Jadhav, Sharma has lost his place in the Indian team.

The 32-year-old pace bowler has picked up 127 wickets in his first-class wickets. If he improves his performances, Mohit could make his Test debut.
