Former Pakistan cricket team player and captain Misbah-ul-Haq played a fine inning and led his team New York Warriors to the inaugural US Masters T10 League Final beating the California Knights in the qualifier 1.
New York Warriors became the first ever team to qualify for the final of the inaugural edition of the US Masters T10 League. They faced off California Knights in the qualifier 1 of the tournament.
New York Warriors finished at the top of the points table at the league stage. In the Qualifier 1 match played at the Central Broward Regional Park ground in Lauderhill, Florida, it was California captain Suresh Raina who won the toss and opted to bat first.
Both the openers for the California Knights, Aaron Finch and Jacques Kallis gave the Knights a perfect start, adding 60 runs in the first 6 overs of the match for the first wicket. While Kallis scored 29 runs, Finch scored 42 runs.
But after that, the remaining batters failed to play any significant innings, which meant that California Knights could only put 96 runs for the loss of 4 wickets on the board.
Chasing the target, New York lost both of their openers, Kamran Akmal and Dilshan, for just 28 runs. But after that, former South African cricketer Richard Levi and former Pakistan captain and the team’s captain Misbah-ul-Haq steadied the ship.
While Levi remained not out after scoring 47 runs in 24 balls, Misbah-ul-Haq, who played his one of the best T20 inning in the previous, once again continued his brilliant form and scored 29 runs in 13 balls with a strike rate of 223.
With that, the New York Warriors will play in the inaugural US Masters T10 League on the 27th of August. They will face of Texas Chargers in the final to be played in Lauderhill, Florida.
