IPL 2025 Mega Auction will happen later this year, and the rules for the same will come out soon. Ahead of the mega auction, all teams have started their respective planning processes. Kolkata Knight Riders made a big announcement earlier today as they roped in Dwayne Bravo as their mentor.
Bravo, who worked as a bowling coach for Chennai Super Kings in the last two seasons, has taken up a mentor’s role for the first time in his IPL career. He played his last professional match for Trinbago Knight Riders, and here’s a list of two CPL stars whom Bravo may target at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction for KKR.
1. Dwayne Bravo could target Quinton de Kock at IPL 2025 Mega Auction
Kolkata Knight Riders made it to the playoffs last season, thanks to Phil Salt’s contributions at the top of the order. However, Salt was unavailable in the playoffs, and considering how the ECB is strict about their players’ availability for international games, it would not be a wise move to retain Salt in the long run.
Perhaps, KKR can go for Quinton de Kock, who has retired. The South African wicketkeeper has a ton of IPL experience, and he can be an asset for the franchise. Currently in CPL, he has scored 426 runs in nine innings at an average of more than 60.
2. Alzarri Joseph
Kolkata Knight Riders had Dushmantha Chameera in their squad for IPL 2024 as a backup for Mitchell Starc. They had originally signed Gus Atkinson, but he made himself unavailable. If Alzarri Joseph returns to the auction pool, KKR mentor Bravo should go for him.
Joseph has the express pace, just like Starc. If Starc is retained, and KKR need a backup for him, then Joseph can be a solid option for the team in IPL 2025.
