The Duleep Trophy is the first tournament in this domestic season. India has a home Test season to follow. Here, we take a look at the list of three top performers in the Duleep Trophy 2025 who could get picked in the Test Team.
India was subjected to a whitewash against New Zealand last year. Hence, playing at home, the hosts will be under pressure. Hence, it could be important to select players who are in form.
1) Rajat Patidar
Rajat Patidar had a poor start to his Test career against England last year. Nevertheless, he is back in form and is leading the run charts in the Duleep Trophy. With Karun Nair failing, India could opt for some fresh middle-order options. Shreyas Iyer is a solid choice and so is Rajat, who is in hot form.
2) Harsh Dubey did well in the Duleep Trophy 2025
Harsh picked plenty of wickets in the last Ranji campaign. It appears that the selectors have moved on from Axar in Tests. Hence, as a backup for R Jadeja, Harsh could be selection by the management. He offers solid all-round skills and he is also in good form, including in the ongoing Duleep Trophy. He will now play for India A against Australia A, as well.
3) N Jagadeesan
N Jagadeesan was only picked as a backup wicket-keeper for the last Test against England. However, considering his current form, he could be picked again, especially if Rishabh Pant does not recover on time. If he does get an opportunity, the Tamil Nadu man must look to grab it with both hands.
