Australia agreed to visit Sri Lanka in these testing times and provided top-quality entertainment to the cricket universe in the island nation. While the Aussies dominated Sri Lanka in the first T20Is of the tour, the home team bounced back with a memorable win in the dead rubber of the T20I series, riding on a half-century from skipper Dasun Shanaka.

Sri Lanka continued their winning momentum in the five-match ODI series and gained an unassailable lead of 3-1 in the five-match series. Pathum Nissanka stole the show by scoring the highest score by a Sri Lankan batter in ODI matches against the Australian cricket team.

It was fun being out here. I want to thank you all: Aaron Finch

Australia won the final ODI of the series by four wickets but lost the series by 3-2. Looking at the overwhelming support from the fans, Finch said:

“We saw a 170-run stand in the second (third) game from Sri Lanka. We got some 40-run stands but it just wasn’t enough. It was fun being out here. I want to thank you all (the crowd) for your support. I know there’s been a lot of yellow in the crowd. You’ve been amazing.”
