Over the past decade, a noticeable pattern has emerged wherein host nations have achieved a striking series of victories in securing the coveted World Cup trophy.

This sequence commenced in 2011 when India claimed triumph on home soil. In the subsequent 2015 World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, Australia emerged as champions.

Continuing this sequence, England clinched the title in the 2019 World Cup, hosted in their own country. They conquered New Zealand in a tightly contested final match, led by the inspirational leadership of Eoin Morgan.

Renowned cricket commentator and analyst Aakash Chopra shared his insights and forecasts through a video on his YouTube channel. In his analysis, Chopra confidently asserted that India holds the leading position and is considered the frontrunner to secure victory in the forthcoming prestigious event, hosted on their home grounds.

He based his prediction on the recent trend of host nations performing well in ICC events.

Chopra, aged 45, emphasized that the advantage of competing in familiar conditions can have a substantial impact on a team’s performance. When a team plays on their home turf, they are more attuned to the pitches, weather, and other playing conditions. This familiarity can translate into greater comfort and enhanced execution of strategic game plans.

“India holds the favorites tag. Given that the event is occurring on home soil, they are undoubtedly the favorites. If you look at the last three World Cups – Australia triumphed in Australia, England emerged victorious in England, and before that, India secured victory in India,” Chopra stated.

Chopra has outlined his top four semifinalist predictions for the grand tournament: Pakistan, England, Australia, and India. Additionally, he expressed the viewpoint that New Zealand might pleasantly surprise with their performance.
