Former Indian cricket team fast bowler Ashish Nehra picked the five fast bowlers he would have in the Indian squad if the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 was starting tomorrow. Interestingly, he did not select veteran Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and left-arm fast bowler T Natarajan.

Speaking on Cricbuzz during the India vs West Indies T20I series, Nehra gave his views on India’s T20 World Cup 2022 and named his choices for the Indian fast bowling attack at the mega event.

My choice for the World Cup would be Siraj, Bumrah, Shami and Prasidh Krishna. We have seen what he can do, and after these four, comes Deepak Chahar,” said Nehra.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 will happen in Australia. The venues Down Under will assist the pace bowlers, which is why it will be very important for the team to go there with the best possible pace attack. Mohammed Siraj is in fantastic form right now, while Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami are the two of the top pacers of the nation.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar are similar kinds of bowlers: Ashish Nehra

The T20I series between the Indian cricket team and the West Indies cricket team is currently underway in Kolkata. The Men in Blue have taken a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series, and now Ashish Nehra feels the team can make one or two changes. Here’s what he had to say about the team selection:

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar are similar kinds of bowlers. So, you can try to play either one of Siraj or Avesh Khan for variety.”

Avesh Khan and Harshal Patel were impressive in IPL 2021, but Ashish would not pick them in the Indian team if the World Cup was starting tomorrow. Since IPL 2022 will happen before the T20 World Cup, a lot will depend on the IPL performance as well.
