Ashwell Prince praises Marco Jansen for his battle against MI teammate Jasprit Bumrah

The 3 match Test series between India and South Africa ended in favour of the South African team, denying India of a historic win. And former South Africa cricketer Prince Ashwell has praised pacer Marco Jansen for determination to not back out from a battle against his IPL teammate.

The India vs South Africa Test series saw some quite the moments throughout the series. Records were broken, controversy and fierce battle.

And one such moment of the series was the fierce battle between South Africa’s Marco Jansen and India’s Jasprit Bumrah. It brewed during the 2nd Test match when Marco Jansen gave some blow to Jasprit Bumrah, while Bumrah returned the favour.

It all continued till the 3rd Test in Cape Town, where both again collided and at the end, Bumrah got the batter of Marco Jansen once again. However, the most surprising fact is that, both the players use to play for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2021 and were teammates.

Praising Marco Jansen for his determination shown towards his national team, former South African opening batsman Ashwell Prince heaped praise on the young South African bowler.

Ashwell in a Twitter thread, posted that he enjoyed the fact that Jansen didn’t back from the battle with Jasprit Bumrah, even though they are IPL teammates. He further added that his relationship in India might be effected with that, but still Jansen put his country 1st.

Marco Jansen was playing his debut Test series for South Africa, and ended up taking 19 wickets in the series. Whereas, Jasprit Bumrah bagged 12 wickets.

With a win in the 3rd Test, the Proteas denied the Indian team from a historic Test series in South Africa, which India have still not managed to do after achieving so much record around the world, South Africa remains.
