Australian pacer Jason Behrendorff offered a humorous solution when questioned about how to contain Suryakumar Yadav in T20Is, suggesting that handing the ball to someone else might be the key to saving the bowler.

Reflecting on the challenges ahead of the second game against India, Behrendorff acknowledged Suryakumar Yadav’s outstanding performance in the first T20I.

In that match, Yadav played a stellar innings, scoring 80 runs off just 42 balls with a strike rate exceeding 190. He smashed 9 fours and 4 sixes, crucial in India’s successful chase of the formidable target of 209 runs, marking their highest successful T20I chase.

Before the match on Sunday, Jason attended the pre-match press conference, during which he was asked about how to stop Suryakumar Yadav in the shortest format of the game, he had only one line answer to that, “Give the ball to someone else may be,” said Behrendorff.

Anticipating Yadav’s continued threat in the second T20I, Behrendorff emphasized the need for strategic bowling changes. He also praised the young talents in the Indian team, noting their impressive skills.

“They are all pretty good players and may be try to keep them guessing, just to stay one step ahead which is hard to do at times. Maybe, do what we can in terms of change in pace, line and length,” added Jason.

The second T20I between India and Australia is scheduled for Sunday (26th November) in Thiruvananthapuram. Team India is leading the series 1-0 after the first match win in Visakhapatnam.
