Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam is day by day becoming one of the top players ever to represent Pakistan. He has now smashed another record of Virat Kohli, overtaking the Indian captain.
Pakistan cricket team is in action against the Namibia cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2021. During the match, Babar Azam completed another feat to overtake the Indian captain, thus breaking another of Virat Kohli’s record.
Babar Azam breaks Virat Kohli’s record again
Babar Azam scored 70 runs of 49 balls with 7 fours against Namibia cricket team. Thus, the Pakistan skipper now has scored 14 half centuries as a captain in T20 International, overtaking Virat Kohli, who has 13 half centuries as captain.
Babar Azam has also reached the feat in just 27 innings in his cricket career as Pakistan cricket team captain, whereas, Virat Kohli took 44 innings to score his 13 half centuries as a captain.
Babar Azam had earlier this week broke another record that was previously being held by Virat Kohli. After the match against Afganistan in the T20 World Cup 2021, Babar Azam became the fastest captain to score 1000 T20 International runs as a captain.
He achieved this milestone in 26 inning while the Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli took 30 innings to score 1000 T20I runs as a captain.
Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2021
Pakistan cricket team is currently playing their 4th match of the T20 World Cup 2021. They are currently topping their group with 3 wins in 3 matches.
The men in green first defeated the Indian cricket team by massive 10 wickets. They then got the better of the New Zealand side in the 2nd match and just recently on the 29th of October, Pakistan beat Afganistan as well.
If they manages to beat Namibia, which is very likely since it is Namibia’s debut T20 World Cup, Pakistan will qualify for the T20 World Cup 2021 semi-finals round, England has already booked their berth just yesterday by beating the Sri Lankan side.
