The 28-year-old cricketer took part in the Global T20 League held in Canada, representing Surrey Jaguars. Litton Das’ team, Surrey, secured the runner-up position following a captivating final match defeat.

Subsequently, Litton returned to his home country and today, during a ceremony where he was named the brand ambassador of an organization, he engaged with the media. During the event, he exercised his privilege to select a World XI team and named himself as the captain.

The lineup proceeds with Sachin Tendulkar at number three and Ricky Ponting at number four. Litton occupies the fifth position, also the captain of the team, and the accomplished all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan takes the sixth spot.

Litton’s eleven boasts five proficient
bowlers, including three pacers: Chaminda Vaas, Shoaib Akhtar, and Wasim Akram. The team is further strengthened by two spinners, Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne.

Surprisingly though, Litton didn’t pick Indian star player such as India’s World Cup 2011 winning duo, captain MS Dhoni and star batter Virat Kohli, which has come as a major surprise for the Indian cricket team fans.

Litton Das gained widespread recognition in India back in 2018 by scoring a remarkable century against India during the Asia Cup final. Similarly, in the previous year, he showcased his brilliance with a sensational performance against Team India in the T20 World Cup, coming close to steering Bangladesh to a memorable victory.

Notably, Litton Das hammered an impressive 60 runs off a mere 27 balls; however, despite his efforts, his team narrowly succumbed to a defeat, with the game concluding with a 5-run margin.

In the upcoming ICC World Cup scheduled for this year, Litton Das is likely to make it to the Bangladesh squad and travel to India again. Furthermore, he stands as a formidable candidate for the leadership role of Bangladesh in the tournament. As Tamim Iqbal relinquished his position as the ODI captain, Bangladesh is on the verge of announcing a fresh captain to take up the mantle.

Litton Das Dream ODI Playing XI: Sanath Jayasuriya, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Litton Das (Captain), Shakib Al Hasan, Chaminda Vaas, Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne.
