Ahead of the 2023 Asia Cup, the Indian squad has gathered in Bengaluru for a comprehensive preparatory camp. In light of recent events with Virat Kohli, the team has been orally instructed to refrain from sharing any sensitive information on social media platforms, following Virat Kohli’s instance of posting his Yo-Yo score on Instagram last Thursday.

The opening day of the camp saw Kohli, alongside notable Indian cricketers such as captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Hardik Pandya, undergoing the rigorous fitness evaluation.

However, Kohli’s decision to disclose his fitness score has raised concerns among prominent BCCI officials, as it is believed to be in violation of contractual terms.

According to a statement from a BCCI official to The Indian Express, players had received verbal instructions to refrain from sharing confidential content on social media. Posting training images is acceptable, but revealing fitness scores is seen as a breach of the contract clause.

Virat Kohli had expressed his satisfaction after successfully completing the Yo-Yo test by posting a selfie and captioning it with, “The happiness of finishing the Yo Yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 don.”

As per the report, the Indian players who did not participate in the Ireland T20I series were provided with a 13-day fitness regimen aimed at maintaining their peak condition and minimizing the risk of injuries in preparation for the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup.

This group of players includes Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj. It’s reported that they underwent a comprehensive full-body assessment.

India recently unveiled a 17-player roster for the Asia Cup, offering insights into the potential composition of the squad they are contemplating for the upcoming ODI World Cup.

The Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to commence on August 30, featuring a match between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan. India’s inaugural match in the tournament will be on September 2, where they will face Pakistan in Pallekele.

India’s most recent Asia Cup victory was in 2018, during the one-day format of the tournament. Sri Lanka currently holds the title of defending champions after winning the competition last year in the UAE. The tournament was played in the T20 format, and Sri Lanka emerged victorious by defeating Pakistan in the title match.
