The final match of the ICC World Test Championship series between the West Indies cricket team and the England cricket team is currently underway at the National Stadium in Grenada. The first matches of the series ended in a draw, and the winner of this match will take the honor of winning the ICC World Test Championship series. Ben Stokes could not impress much in this game.
The West Indies cricket team won the toss and decided to field first in the match. The home side got off to a dream start as they reduced the England cricket team to 90/8. Despite having the likes of Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow in the playing XI, the England cricket team had to rely on the tail-enders to score a majority of the runs for the team.
Jack Leach and Saqib Mahmood scored a total of 90 runs as the England cricket team avoided an embarrassing total and posted 204 runs on the board. Mahmood, who batted at the number 11 position, top-scored with 49 runs. Meanwhile, Leach remained not out on 41 runs off 141 deliveries, smashing five boundaries.
Ben Stokes lost his wicket to Alzarri Joseph after scoring two runs
All-rounder Ben Stokes took a break from IPL to focus on Test cricket. However, he could not impress much in the ICC World Test Championship match against the West Indies cricket team in Grenada. He came out to bat at number five when the team’s score was 46/3 after 25.1 overs.
Stokes managed only two runs from 16 balls before handing a catch to Alzarri Joseph off his own bowling. After his dismissal, Stokes was in the dressing room. At one point during the innings, he was yawning, and that photo has gone viral on social media.
