With an impressive tally of 185 runs in four matches, Parag currently occupies the fourth position in the Orange Cap standings, the leaderboard for the most run scorers in the IPL 2024.

Commenting on Parag’s evolution this season, former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg noted a significant maturity in the young player, reflecting in his consistent performances. Hogg observed a notable shift in Parag’s attitude, citing a reduction in ego and a heightened belief in his abilities as pivotal factors contributing to his success with the Rajasthan Royals, the only undefeated team in the tournament.

Additionally, Hogg commended the Rajasthan Royals for assembling a well-balanced squad, labeling them as the most cohesive unit in the competition. He highlighted the potential return of Sandeep Sharma from injury as a valuable asset, emphasizing the flexibility it would provide by enabling Sharma to serve as a sixth bowling option under the Impact Sub rule.

“I think he has really matured this year. Last year, I guess he had a bit of a strut on him. I don’t say this disrespectfully but I think he had a bit of ego last year. The ego is still there but it is in control. He believes in himself and he is now more worried about what he can do for the team rather than trying to seal his place in the team,” the former Aussie cricketer said.
